In this large retrospective analysis of >81,000 pregnant women, the use of first trimester metoclopramide had no association with congenital malformations, low birth weight, preterm birth, or perinatal death (abstract). This give reassurance of the safety of first trimester metoclopramide use for nausea and vomiting.
